Dear Friends of the Fund!
We warmly wish all of you a blessed celebration of our Lord's Nativity and a Happy New Year 2010! On behalf of all those who work for the Fund, I wish you and your loved ones good health, both spiritual and physical, and many good works for the good of our Church and Mother Russia!
1. Charitable Work
- For several years the Fund has been in charge of the following activities: Orthodox high school and Kindergarten named for St. Seraphim of Sarov (Moscow Region, Village Razvilka); general School of Slavic Cultures (Moscow Region, City of Podolsk); Sunday School of the Church of the Holy Martyrs Flor and Lavra (Moscow Region, village of Yam). Throughout 2009 all of these projects under our care were provided with food and the most basic items, and received gifts on the holidays of the Nativity of Our Lord and on Easter.
- The Fund continues to provide financial support to an invalid of Group 1, Irina Negodina, for treatment in the Mayo Clinic in the U.S.A.;
- 6,500 icons of the Mother of God of the Kursk-Root Icon of the "Sign" handed out during the visit of wonder¬working Hodegetria of the Russian Diaspora.;
- A banner was ordered and given to the church of the Holy Royal Martyrs of the military hospital "Chelmitokvarge" in the city of Sochi;
- visit to the "Kruzenshtem" ship in Kaliningrad, a meeting with officers and cadets, participation in church services, presenting banners and icons of the Holy Royal Martyrs, St. Fyodor Ushakov, and small icons of the Mother of God of the Kursk-Root Icon of the "Sign".
- visits to naval cadet camps in Svetlogorsk, where we gave lectures and handed out presents;
- presenting 100 copies of the book "The Adventures of the Three White Bears» to the international charitable fund «The Child's Mite» as New Year's presents to orphan children;
2. Cultural - Educational Work
- The Chairman of the Fund, O.N. Kulikovsky-Romanov, and co-workers of the Fund gave many lectures in several Russian cities (St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Alapaevsk, Tyumen, Tobolsk, Yaroslavl, Kursk, etc.), attended numerous meetings with representatives of the Church, the federal government, directors of organizations and educational institutions, youth, etc. Let us enumerate several of them:
- games and sets of books - those published by the Fund as well as those obtained by order - were given to various institutions (Orthodox high school in the village of Razvilka; Orthodox high school in Kursk; the Fund of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called's program "A Child's Mite"; oncological children's hospital; Orthodox churches in Finland, Greece, on Athos, etc.);
- a working plan was developed for the Fund's work in preparation for the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the reign of the House of Romanov;
- an award system was developed by the Fund (icons, commemorative pins, awarded for active participation in charitable activities);
- participation in the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the museum "The House of Romanov";
- visit to a school for handicapped children in Balashikha;
- participation in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Martha-Mary Convent and giving of gifts from the Fund;
- preparation for publication of the 3rd edition of the book "The Tsar's Family";
- English translation of the book "The Adventures of the Three White Bears" was realized.
3. General Work
- Co-workers of the Fund took part in the work of the 3rd Assembly of the fund "Russian World". O.N. Kulikovsky-Romanov gave a lecture on the role of the Russian Orthodox Church in the preservation and spreading of the Russian language in the world";
- visit to the Kursk-Root Hermitage;
- participation in a festive reception in the Kremlin on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of national unity;
- participation in the work of the Council of compatriots;
- participation in the 1st Congress of Orthodox women and lecture on the "House of Romanov and charitable work";
- participation in charity concert "Music of the Great Dynasty" in the Church of Christ the Saviour;
- meetings and talks with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad Metropolitan Hillarion, Metropolitan Alexander of Riga and All Latvia, Vladika Alexander, Bishop of Daugavpilsky, Vladika Vikenty Archbishop of Ekaterinburg and Verkhoturye, Vladika Herman, Bishop of Kursk and Riga, Schema-Metropolitan Juvenaly, Archbishop Alexander of Kostroma and Galich, Vladika Mark, Archbishop of Berlin and all Germany, and Great Britain, Vladika Gabriel, Bishop of Montreal and all Canada; Vladika Sergei, Metropolitan of Voronezh and Borisoglabsky; Vladika John, Archbishop of Belgorod; Hegumen Alexander (Fedorov), head priest of the Peter-Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg, Fr. Sergei Bondarev (Copenhagen), and others.
- the activities of the Fund and its Chairman are regularly covered on the web site of the Fund, in many printed publications, and on the Internet. The Board of Directors of the Fund sincerely thanks everyone who participates as much as they are able in charitable activities, and wishes happiness, well being, and God's help!
